1) When you ride downtown past 8pm, only students, the homeless, and punk rockers seem to be roaming the streets
2) If you ride downtown at night, you WILL encounter some sort of socially unacceptable behavior--whether its drunken brawls or drunken Trixies or a crazy guy yelling or other sorts of things of that sort
3) You sometimes see rainbows for no reason in the middle of the sky (like I did on my way home from work today!)
4) At night, you can ride down the beautiful streets in the ritzy areas and finally see into the houses that have their windows open. And sometimes it it AMAZING! And sometimes it is TERRIFYING. (Scary rich old people have some weird shit in their homes!)
5) It can be so peaceful right after it rains. Especially on the lakefront when you are the ONLY one soaking wet and riding free
6) You can hollar at cute boys and by the time they realize it, you are gone!
7) On a crisp Fall morning, your face stings in a good way
8) Eventually after you ride by the same groundskeeper every morning, he starts smiling every time and saying "good morning" to you
9) Riding in a gang of people, you feel powerful
10) It's extremely meditative and a time of reflection if you want it to be (and if you can also avoid being doored at the same time!)
11) It's fun to get REALLY freakin mad at an idiot driver and cuss them out as loud as you can so everyone stops to stare
12) It is good for your heart, head and soul to see the greatest city in the country wizzing past you, and feel so lucky to be right here, right now

US of A Financial Crisis Thoughts
Bummer about the Financial Market in America. Reading and watching everything, not to mention working in the investment field, has given me quite a deeper knowledge than I ever thought I would have about investments.
I am finally contributing to an IRA and THIS happens!
Though perhaps it's a good thing that I have only just begun contributing. I would be very upset if my years of earnings suddenly dropped like it was hot. Seeing $600 lost just this round got me fired up enough to realize I don't do well with market fluxuation. I believe that makes me a conservative moderate investor. Oh wow. I guess I have learned a thing or two after all while working my dead end job! Hooray!
This situation that has occurred is what is the problem with everyone telling you social security won't be around and encouraging everyone young to invest privately instead. Then we all invest blindly to secure (we are told) funds and share the burden of fate with millions of others. But now we are all affected, not just the big risky traders on Wall Street(who always seem to have more and more money no matter how low the Dow goes. How does that work?).
Without getting too soap-boxy I just want to point out that not everyone likes to gamble. Some people react to losing money emotionally. Especially when they dont have a lot. And those people with hardly anything to save financially have been told to put all their tiny hard earned cash pots into their IRAs and 401Ks by every advisor in the country and now they are dealing with losses usually only hard core investors are used to.
Its tough. Its not fair. And there really isnt anything much to do about it but wait and hope this teaches a lesson to greedy people.

Also, I really feel bad for the people who worked so hard and are retiring right now, with possibly half the money they anticipated retiring with. And inflation is only getting worse. Wow. One more thing that terrifies me about getting old. I will add that to the list. Inflation vs. retirement money saved. Ha!
